Cleavers – seed packet

(Galium aparine) Annual in the Coffee Family, cosmopolitan in distribution. Also known as “Bedstraw” (one of its historical uses) and “Ninja Weed” (describing how it latches on to clothing or fur and won’t let go). A climbing vine, to 6′ long. Medicinally, used internally for adrenal health, topically for burns and insect bites. Drought-tolerant.

Planting suggestions: Direct-sow in very early spring. Full sun to part sun. Thin to 12” apart. Harvest at flowering stage, before it seeds. Bruises easily, so handle as little as possible. Dry quickly in the shade and store in airtight container. Self-sows enthusiastically.

Contains at least 50 seeds.
