(Misopates orontium) Annual in the Figwort Family. Thin-leafed foliage on plants to 3-feet. Snapdragon-style flowers are tiny, pink and blossom until frost. Native to Europe, but widely naturalized across North America. Considered a “weed” by some. Highly drought-tolerant. We encountered this plant as a volunteer on some farmland near Corvallis, and were immediately taken by its charm. “Adorable” describes this flower well!
Planting suggestions: Direct seed from late autumn to early spring for germination in the late spring and early summer. Thin to 18-24 inches apart. Will self-sow readily.
