This is a hard-to-find tincture in the current marketplace and we are very pleased to be offering it! Spilanthes is one of the few medicinal herbs indicated specifically for tooth and gum health. Acute conditions — such as a toothache — can be alleviated by squirting the tincture directly on the area. As a mouthwash, we use 1-2 dropperfuls in a small amount of water, swish for 1-3 minutes, and then spit it out. The tincture causes tingles and numbness in the mouth and lips, and promotes salivation. It is an enlivening experience to use it! Caution is advised, as regular ingestion of Spilanthes can reputedly have a detrimental effect on the beneficial bacteria in the intestine.
Topically, Spilanthes has anti-fungal properties. Further experimentation and research are needed to show how it might be used to treat different skin conditions.
2011 was our third year of growing this plant for medicine, and we cultivated over 100 plants in our hoophouse. We picked fresh flowers every few days right into Certified Organic alcohol. At the end of the season we pressed out this tincture, and are quite happy with it.

The FDA is a puppet of the industry it is supposed to be regulating, and its "evaluation" process often involves cruel and spurious animal research.
