Description
(Cucurbita pepo) A prolific, early-producing mainstay of summer gardens. Best picked small (6-8 inches long) and cooked right away. Flowers are also edible. Bush habit (non-sprawling).
Planting suggestions: Direct sow when danger of frost has passed or start in flats in a greenhouse, sunny window, or under lights. Prefers rich garden soil, full sun and regular water. Plant on a mound in northern climes, and in a basin in desert areas.
